The Santa Fe Animal Shelter invites the community to its annual Be a Guiding Light holiday fundraiser, aiming to raise $900,000 for local animal care and rescue programs. An anonymous benefactor offers a powerful matching challenge: the first $30,000 donated in November and $70,000 in December will be matched dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling your impact. Donations fund essential services like veterinary treatment, safe housing, and behavioral support for thousands of pets in Northern New Mexico.

2022 NYC Bessie Artist Spanish Flamenco dancer Antonio Granjero presents the 2025 Holiday season at performance venue EL FLAMENCO CABARET along with his company, Entreflamenco 2017 Mayor’s Arts Award Winner. The show features Granjero and his company of Spaniards in an all new full-length dance and music production. Performances run from November 28th through January 3rd, 2026, doors open for food and drink at 6:15pm, show begins at 7:30pm. EL FLAMENCO CABARET is located at 135 W. Palace Ave 2nd floor. Stuff the Bus Santa Fe 2025 is a community-wide holiday food drive dedicated to collecting fresh and nutritious food for Kitchen Angels, a local nonprofit that prepares and delivers free meals to homebound residents facing life-challenging illnesses. Donations of all unopened, nonperishable food items are welcome at Albertsons Market on Zafarano from December 1st to 5th. The drive, sponsored by Hutton Broadcasting and Albertsons Market, culminates on Friday, December 5th, when two buses will be stuffed with donations and delivered to Kitchen Angels

Akira Kurosawa’s late work, Dreams, unfolds in a series of eight mythic vignettes inspired by the director’s nighttime visions and Japanese folklore. This visually sumptuous journey ranges from tales of childlike wonder, like stumbling upon a fox wedding, to apocalyptic apparitions, such as a power-plant meltdown. Featuring reflections on creation, including a tribute to Vincent van Gogh (played by Martin Scorsese), the film is a showcase of Kurosawa’s artistry and a deeply personal lament for a world at the mercy of human ignorance.

The documentary Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk offers an intimate, first-hand perspective on life under siege in Gaza. It is captured through video calls between director Sepideh Farsi and 25-year-old Palestinian photojournalist and poet Fatma Hassona, providing a portrait of daily life during the conflict and a heartfelt memorial to Fatma and her family, who were tragically killed by an airstrike. The film is described as a tremendous and essential document of hope and resistance.

The annual Wreaths for NM Veterans ceremony honors New Mexico’s heroes with a memorial ceremony, followed by the respectful placement of thousands of memorial wreaths on veterans’ graves (held in all weather conditions). This community-wide event welcomes all families and children to participate in the solemn mission of remembering those who served, with a goal of placing up to 20,000 wreaths. All volunteers are welcome.

Regarded by many as Luis Buñuel’s masterpiece, Viridiana is an irreverent vision of life as a beggar’s banquet. The film follows novice nun Viridiana (Silvia Pinal) as she attempts to maintain her Catholic principles, only to be forced to confront the limits of her idealism by her lecherous uncle (Fernando Rey) and a motley assemblage of paupers. Banned in Franco’s Spain and denounced by the Vatican upon its premiere, the film won the Palme d’Or at the 1961 Cannes Film Festival.
