The Atalaya PTA Turkey Trot celebrates its 19th annual event on November 27, 2025, at Atalaya Elementary School in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
This community Thanksgiving tradition features a 5K race and a 1K Kids’ Fun Run, attracting more than 700 participants each year. The Turkey Trot is the largest annual fundraiser for the Atalaya Elementary PTA, providing funding for classroom resources, teacher stipends, and student enrichment programs.
What Is the Atalaya Turkey Trot?
The Turkey Trot is an annual running event designed to engage families, students, and community members while supporting local education. Funds raised are used to enhance student experiences, including library books, classroom supplies, and enrichment activities not covered by the school district.
Event Schedule
- Wednesday, November 26, 2025: Early registration packet pickup, 4–6 p.m. at Atalaya Elementary School
- Thursday, November 27, 2025:
- 8–8:45 a.m.: Sign-in and packet pickup
- 9 a.m.: 5K race begins
- 10–10:15 a.m.: Kids’ Fun Run sign-in
- 10:30 a.m.: Kids’ Fun Run begins
The race begins at Railyard Park, following the city path to Ashbaugh Park, and returning to the Railyard.
